Watson moves to save Sussex Inlet Cinema.
At a Meeting of Shoalhaven City Council Held on Tuesday the 22nd of October, Councillor Greg Watson Successfully Moved a Motion Which Has Saved the Sussex Inlet Cinema from Potential Demolition.

At the meeting Councillor Greg Watson told his colleagues that the community, Sussex Inlet would not accept any move to demolish the theatre.  Councillor Watson's comments were made to support a motion he had moved which voted $200,000 for the urgent refurbishment of the theatre.

Councillor Greg Watson, commenting on the matter, told Shoalhaven City Council that the local community were insisting that the Cinema was restored to an operational status as soon as possible.

The issue came to a head, following a report to the Property Steering Committee, which identified  serious issues with the standard of the building, which included asbestos and electrical problems.

The $200,000 voted for the refurbishment of the theatre will bring the theatre back to a usable condition retaining the asset for tourists and locals alike Councillor Watson concluded.
